This vehicle the first piece of fire apparatus the company purchased in 1925 for $2083.00. It was in service until 1955. Since then it was owned and cared for by the Penrose family here in Warrington. The Penrose Family has given the truck back to the fire company. Words can not express how grateful we are to have this piece or history back in our family. Stay tuned to see the progress of getting it cleaned up and running. We hope to get it out and to a few parades this summer. Thanks to Penrose Hallowell and Boylan's Towing for their help.

Another Sprinkler Save

 January 20, 2008

When the Warrington Fire Department was dispatched to 1109 Main Street around 12:00 reports were of a fire in a bathroom and a waterflow alarm. When DC-29 (Bean) arrived he had reports from the PD that the fire was out and the sprinkler system was running. BC 29 (Fuchs) confirmed the report. Chief 29 (Hinkle) arrived and silenced the alarm and shut down the sprinkler system. Fire was contained to area of origin by one pendant sprinkler in the bathroom. Crews from Horsham, Harstville and Warminster assisted with cleanup of water in the salon as well as 2 adjacent stores.  FM 275 (Lesniak) and 275-2 (Greenberg) are investigating the cause. All the stores were able to open up later that day except the nail salon. We believe this is the 7th sprinkler save in Warrington Township since the Mandatory Sprinkler Ordinance was passed more than 10 years ago. As national studies show most fires the start in fully sprinklered properties, are contained by one or two sprinklers and save lives and property.

R.I.P. Brett Stebulis

Saving lives was in Brett Stebulis’ blood. It was a mission the 22-year-old carried with him until death. An emergency medical technician and a sixth-generation Ivyland firefighter, Stebulis donated his own organs after succumbing to injuries sustained in a car accident Saturday night in the 600 block of Street Road. Knowing that his own body might help someone else, even after he was beyond help, “was important to him” said his uncle, Ivyland Councilman and Fire Chief Albert DeGideo. Stebulis, who lived on West Bristol Road, was thrown from the vehicle after it struck a utility pole, police said.Tara Ketterer, 23, of Ottsville, was a passenger in the 2006 black Scion. She survived the accident and was listed in fair condition Monday at Abington Memorial Hospital, said a spokeswoman there. Stebulis was driving east at about 11:45 p.m. when he apparently lost control of the car, which then climbed an embankment and hit a utility pole, police said.
