E-78 On Third Job In 10 days

On 01-18-2012 at 1940 hrs, E-78 was dispatched to cover Sta.34 while they operated on Box-34-06 at The Shrine of Czestochowa. C-34 was on scene with fire showing from the first floor. While en route, E-78 (Capt. Campbell) was redirected to the scene. BC-19 (Kreuter) reported fire had extended to the second floor. E-78's crew assisted with ventilation on the second floor. Good knock on the fire by first arriving companies. The fire was placed under control at 2007 hrs. Other unit's on scene were Chalfont, Doylestown, Dublin and Hilltown.
First Due Job, Box-29-03

On 01-16-2012 at 0336 hrs, local box 29-03 was dispatched to 2065 Bunnell Road for an alarm system at an auto body shop. 75-PD arrived on scene with smoke showing from the roof. BC-29 (Harvey) arrived on scene with a one story industrial building with smoke showing. E-78-1 (Lt. Woodring) dropped in from the plug, forced entry to the overhead garage door and went in service with a 2" line. E-78 (FF- D. Matthews) took the second due engine company assignment and picked up E-78-1's plug. L-29 (Capt. Groman) went to the roof and opened up. Montco L-15 assisted L-29's crews on the roof. E-78-1's crew made a quick knock and had the fire placed under control in 21 min. Montco E-18 was the RIT. C-29 (Bean) had command. DC-90 (P. Croak) had operations. BC-29 (Harvey) had interior operations. Other units on scene were Horsham, Doylestown, Warminster, Harstville and Montgomery Township Fire Department. Photos courtesy of John England.

Busy Day For WTFC

Engine 78, Deputy 29 on Montco 18 Job
On 01-09-2012 at 1112 hrs, E-78 (Capt. Campbell) was dispatched on box 47-04 (Montgomery Township Sta. 18) for a working dwelling fire. E-78 arrived on scene as the third due engine company and reverse laid to the hydrant. E-78's crew opened up on side C and assisted with extinguishment. E-78 supplied L-62 (North Penn) for master stream operations. The fire was placed under control around 1330 hours. Other unit's on scene were Montgomery Township, Colmar Fore Dept, Hilltown Fire Department, Chalfont Fire Company, North Penn Fire Company and VMSC (345).
Local Box 29-45 - Truck Fire
On 01-09-2012 at 1605 hrs, local box 29-45 was dispatched for a truck fire on Rt.611 in front of the quarry. BC-29 (Harvey) arrived on scene with fire in the rear of a Ford F350 stake body landscaping truck. E-78 (Capt. Campbell) went in service with a bumper line. E-78-1 (Lt. Woodring) arrived on scene and assisted E-78's crew. All units were clear at 1634 hrs.
