Are You Tough Enough?

www.warringtonfire.com

Have you seen this banner somewhere? The Warrington Township Fire Company has kicked off a membership drive. Yellow banners, like the one above, have been place around the township to promote the Company to recruit new members. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer we have firefighter, technical rescue, Emergency Medical and administrative openings available.

Click on the banner above for more information.

Becoming a member of Warrington Fire Department.

The Warrington Fire Department is always looking to increase our staffing, whether it be thru firefighting, office work or associate member. This is a great way to support the volunteer system and support your community. If you ever thought about becoming a firefighter, now is your chance to make it happen. We are looking for people from a wide range in age and background. Regardless of the location of your residence within the township, we encourage you to explore the membership options at one of our two stations.

If your interested in the challenge of becoming a member and serving your community, click on the application tab. Print out the application. Once completed, bring your application to the main station located at Freedoms Way and Rt. 611 any Tuesday night between 6:30pm and 7:00pm. You can also call the fire department to make arrangements to drop off your application. (215)-343-0544.

Being a volunteer firefighter involves a greater time commitment than many applicants may first realize. There is an extensive time commitment during the first year. Primarily during the first 6 months of the probationary period. A new firefighter must be able to make the following time commitments:

  • Basic Firefighter Training.
  • Drills held on Tuesday nights and an occasional Saturday.

Newly admitted probationary firefighters are required to attend within the first year an eighty-eight plus (88+) hour basic firefighter course. The basic firefighter course is taught at the Bucks County Public Safety Training Center in Doylestown Township. Upon successful completion of the course you will receive the NFPA Firefighter 1 certification. The Firefighter 1 program teaches basic firefighting skills with an emphasis on safe practices in an emergency environment. Successful completion of the Academy is mandatory.

Warrington Fire Department partakes in training every Tuesday night. The second Tuesday night of each month is the department monthly meeting.

We look forward to receiving your application. If you have any questions, please feel to contact the Chief’s office. (215)-343-0544.
