Why should I attend?

At present, manufacturers providing products to the Australian market, perform fire testing to the relevant Australian standard and then proceed to manufacture and sell that product based on the performance achieved in the testing. There is no further need for confirmation of the manufactured product compared to that tested, bringing into question the quality of the mass-produced product to that submitted for original testing.

Although third-party certification is not currently a regulatory requirement in Australia, wider adoption of certification is becoming critical to ensure that the ongoing quality, performance and reliability of a product is established. During the webinar, we will discuss the need for a wider adoption of certification in Australia.

Further to this, we will be hearing testimony from Promat who have recently gone through the certification process with Warringtonfire. Having passed rigorous testing procedures, Promat Australia gained certification of their PROMASTOP® UniCollar fire collar, and the PROMASEAL® FCS & FC fire collars in June 2022 against the Certifire scheme. The mark of approval was awarded after the product met the requirements set out in Certifire’s Australian Technical Schedule – ATS00 (Scheme rules). Peter Butler of Promat Australia will discuss his experience with the certification process, explaining the reasons for undertaking certification and his thoughts on the wider adoption of certification in Australia.
