Meet our experts on stand FI1840

The Warringtonfire stand is one not to miss, and as the Official Fire Door Partner we’re perfectly placed to support you with technical and certification queries.

Introducing Warringtonfire’s Tech Talks

For 2024, we're introducing a series of new Tech Talks, all of which will take place within a small theatre on our stand. The talks will feature a mix of technical talks and presentations on some of the main topics of interest to the construction and fire safety industries, such as the changing regulatory landscape, third party certification, and the performance of construction products in fire test conditions.

10.30-11.00 The Future of Fire Testing

Opening in January 2025, Birchwood Park in Warrington represents ‘the future of fire testing’. Join us to see what this brand new US$30 million state-of-the-art-facility will mean for you, from the utilisation of advanced technologies and testing techniques, through to increased capacity.

11.30-12.00 Third Party Certification of Construction Products - Adding Assurance

Explaining the process of establishing the performance of construction products to relevant test standards, and how third-party certification schemes provide added assurance of product performance to specifiers and end users.

12.30-13.00 Reality of Fire Door Testing

Our technical experts talk you through a real-time live fire door test illustrating the testing process and how important this is for safety critical products.

13.30-14.00 Passive Fire Protection – Importance of Correct Specification

Comparing fire resisting construction products in fire test conditions, where one sample is compliant with manufacturers specification and the other is not. The presentation will highlight the importance of ensuring the specification is in accordance with the manufacturer’s tested details and how the different components of a fire resisting product interact to provide the required performance.

14.30-15.00 STS202 Burglar Resistance Testing and Certification for CERTISECURE approval

The presentation primarily focuses on our STS202 Burglar Resistance testing, and also looking at and comparing with the different UK marketplace standards for security performance of doors and windows, focusing primarily on those recognised by UK building regulations and Secured by Design.

The importance of fire resisting and smoke control doorsets and EN classification

3:30pm - 4:00pm, Tuesday 3rd December, presented by Peter Barker

Fire resisting and smoke control doorsets have an important life safety role to play within buildings, by restricting the spread of fire and smoke through the building and safeguarding the means of escape. Peter will explain how the fire resistance and smoke control performance of doorsets is established by testing to the relevant test standards and why attention to detail is so important when specifying and installing these specialist construction products. Peter will also explain the process of classifying fire resisting and smoke control doorsets using the European classification system for doorsets, EN 13501-2 and how this differs from the approach using the British Standards, BS 476: Part 22 and BS 476: Part 31.1.
