The project
Warringtonfire Australia was engaged by Gage Roads Brewery to undertake the fire safety engineering for their exciting new brewery at Fremantle. The project consisted of the repurposing of the existing A Shed located at Fremantle port. The new venue will include a brewery, dining and entertaining areas, all of which will be set amongst the iconic Fremantle scenery.
Our solution
The Warringtonfire Perth team provided fire engineering services for the new development, which included rationalising the building fire ratings and type of construction. The assessment also considered various other fire safety aspects, such as egress and fire spread. Our approach enabled various heritage elements to be retained and also enabled flexibility in the design. In achieving this the Perth fire safety engineering team worked closely with the project architect, project building surveyor and the Department of Fire and Emergency Service (DFES) to develop fire safety strategies that met the performance requirements of the National Construction Code (NCC).
