Imran Ahamed is a senior fire assessment engineer with Warringtonfire in Brisbane, Australia. He has a comprehensive understanding of Australian fire testing and fire assessment standards. As part of Warringtonfire's NATA accredited laboratory, he conducts structural and non-structural fire assessments of buildings and building components to assess their fire resisting performance – by considering the variations to the tested system in accordance with the National Construction Code (NCC).
Imran also has experience in a wide range of structural fire engineering projects delivering safe, innovative and pragmatic structural fire engineering solutions for mass timber, steel, concrete and composite buildings. This includes finite element thermal / structural modelling of buildings, and analytical / empirical investigations using Australian / European structural design standards.

Imran holds industry membership with the MIEAust, NER and RPEQ.
Qualifications
Imran holds a BSc in Civil Engineering (Hons) from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, and a PhD in structural fire engineering from Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane.
